No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.

Here to You – Tyler Brown Williams

Ever dreamt?

Every dream I once dreamt are coming true.

Dream more, dream brave — she whispers into my ears.

She adds, “And while you dream, and while the chase is on;

you’re also trading a fundamental asset that you will never get back — Time!”

Tonight, sleep on this;

Our full life is all about, as simple as — what we ‘actively’ do with our time!

Dreaming.

Discovering.

Becoming.

Acting.

Chasing.

Hustling.

Resting.

Practicing.

Recovering.

Perfecting.

Wasting!

Earth angels

It is not things that disturb us, but our interpretation of their significance.

~ Epictetus

Phillip LaRue – Carry You

Over a ride for grocery, I and my sister briefly talked about, ‘that ‘one’ person who’s enough for us to sail through life’s peaks and valleys’. The same evening she published a quote on her facebook wall from Anna that says, “Some people appear in your life when you need them most. They love you & lift you up reminding you of the best even when you’re going through the worst. These people are not just friends they are Earth angels.. “. I know she wouldn’t do it unless she strongly feels something deeply personal in her heart.

And that thought of her thought has been with me since.

My sister’s name is Sabi Shrestha. She is my ‘earth angel’ for sure. Matter of fact, she is without-a-question — an earth angel for so many people. And, most certainly ‘Angels’ also needs angels!

Well, I don’t know about me being anybody’s angel
but — I just hope i can share

‘her’ weights,

her plights,

her delights too.

I hope I can be there for her whenever … wherever she needs me to be.

She deserves ‘earth angels’ or whatever we call them!

Again,

She is my ‘Ram Shankar Nikumbh’.

She has been my earth angel! She still is.

Again,

She is an earth angel for so many!

Namaste.

Responsibility

“Treat yourself like you are someone you are responsible for helping.” ~ Dr. Jordan Peterson

we’ll be fine – Luz

I had long been following breadcrumbs left by Dr. Jordan Peterson. Recently, I even requested a photo print of him to my best friend.

He has been my mentor,

my father figure,

my favorite author,

my favorite intellect, and superlatively,

my favorite human.

He says, the true meaning and purpose of ones life — lies in willingness and the capacity to take (or self-conduct ourselves evenly despite) more responsibilities than merely sleepwalking adhering to the impractical junks such as ‘You Only Live Once’, or ‘Life’s about pursuit of Happiness’, or ‘Thank God It’s Friday’, and many more commercialized bull-craps.

His latest two books — 12 Rules for Life, and Beyond Order delicately encapsulates the crucial lack and thereof the dire necessity of taking responsibility for the sake of a fulfilling life.

James Clear also writes,

“Life rarely changes in a positive way without an increase in responsibility.

That can mean taking ownership of your health or committing to a relationship or starting a business.

Whatever it is, if you want the trajectory to change, the amount of responsibility usually has to change.”

Whence,

if you’re reading this —

Stop chasing happiness,

Stop painting fake pictures,

And, start growing responsibility muscle.

Be responsible!

Upgrade your responsibilities!

Namaste!

Three sieves

Four things belong to a judge: to hear courteously, to answer wisely, to consider soberly, and to decide impartially. ~ Socrates

Giveon – Heartbreak Anniversary

It’s been hell of a week.

Last Thursday, I had my Finals and the next morning I were to fly to Seattle.

Thus, apologies for the Musicpervs inconsistency there!

Today, the thing I’m about to share is a small fragment of information from series of conversations I and Manish were having on the way back his home at around 1230AM of December 17, 2021.

Well, chew what you can muster!

Socrates during his time had an immense reputation for his thought provoking and profound tank of wisdom.

One fine day, a man came to him and said, “Do you know what I heard about your friend?”

“A moment”, replied Socrates. “Before you tell me, I would like to test you with the three sieves.”

“The Three Sieves?“, what’s that? Asked the man in bewilderment.

“Yes”, continued Socrates. “Before telling me anything about the other, it’s good to take sometime to filter what you mean, I call it the test of the three sieves.”

First, have you verified what you’re going to tell me is true?

No, I just heard it.

I see, So you don’t know if it’s true. Never mind. Let’s go with the second sieve. What you want to tell me about my friend, is it good?

Oh, no no, but it’s the opposite.

Hmm.. so you want to tell me bad things about him and you’re not even sure if they’re true, questioned Socrates.

Maybe you can still pass the test of the third sieve. Socrates went to ask, “Is it useful that I know what you’re going to tell me about this friend?”

Not really!

Thus, concluded Socrates, what you were going to tell me has neither the proof of TRUTH, nor it’s KIND and also isn’t of any UTILITY then — why did you want to tell me this anyway?

Takeaways.

Before you speak anything, 3 things to look for:

  1. Is it true? Truth.
  2. Is it kind? Kindness.
  3. Is it of any good use? Utility.

Namaste.

Meditation

Every once in a while. Stop living mindlessly. Rather, step back from the reality itself and breathe and contemplate. There lies the true high definition resolution of our real reality. ~ author

Aditya Rikhari – FAASLE

Brainfood: I will never be perfect and … that’s fine

Book I’m reading: The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel. Favorite chapter — Freedom (must read).

Things I’m trying to get done: Make Routine.

My biggest turn off of the week: Not getting enough sleep. Solution: Need to form a practical schedule.

Occupied with: Assignments, Quizzes. Exam.

New Experiment: Mr. Potato Shrestha (@potatoshrestha) — a tool I made for myself to graphically register my life’s everyday ordinary events encapsulated around one post.

Sad news: Chelsea (pet dog) passed away!

Grateful for: everything!

Poem for the week

To try to spend one full life — one ephemeral moment at a time,

To try to walk towards life’s mountain top –one graceful step at a time,

To try to try to pick yourself up — whenever you feel short, whenever you feel high of the low,

To try to try not to be resentful, angry, mad, upset or judgmental — whenever things don’s happen your way,

is wisdom,

is courage,

is meditation.

LUDO: Aabaad Barbaad

Dear SV,

First of all, thank you for being one of my BEST FRIENDS.

Second of all, thank you for being my cool a.s.s girlfriend.

Dear SV,

On this special day of yours, December the holy 5th,

I genuinely hope you continue to remain —

deeply fulfilled,

heartily joyous,

soulfully kind,

gravely laborious,

fiercely courageous,

and mindfully paperweight,

and unprecedentally beautiful, … forever!

p.s.

I know I’ve said it many times and I will continue to say — that you have been my center of gravity; that you have been my quintessence balance; that you have been the fulcrum of my life’s anatomy; that you have been my keeper all these time and I will forever be grateful for this unique gift of fate!

p.p.s Happy Birthday budi!

Finally .. let’s enjoy as we traverse through life’s peaks and valleys — and that too –together — bayb! ❤️❤️

A bonus — my last post from December 5.

Show up

No one’s coming to save you. No one! ~ Mel Robbins

Eminem – Rabbit Run

Showing up is so underrated, under-exercised.

However, the ones who do knows that the mere act of ‘showing up’ is half the battle! … a.n.y battle.

Remember, showing up always pays off eventually!

Or say, in order words, ‘consistency‘ or ‘persistence’ or ‘perseverance’ reflects —

Organic roots.

Pure discipline.

Clear headspace.

Credible wisdom.

Rare sincerity.

Meticulous honesty.

Profound loyalty.

And.

Mostly underrated — The True truthfulness in you!

Simply put, there’s nothing like ‘showing up’ that shows

your true substance!

Show up!

Namaste.

Happy Thanksgiving

“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.” ~ Cicero

Tere Hi Hum – Prateek Kuhad

It’s my first thanksgiving here in the states.

Not that I felt anything special about it.

Just turned-in the assignment.

And, it’s already 1120PM.

Took my vitamins.

I’ve yet to brush my teeth, wash my face, apply moisturizer and finish musicpervs!

This past week I decided to post a post — everyday –on @potatoshrestha .

In all sincerity I didn’t put a lot of deep thought into this walk.

I had two ‘specific’ goals in mind as I thought of embarking on this next anew experiment:

One, I just wanted the page to augment my real life. You know the kind of life that’s utterly random.

Sure, It won’t look perfect and filtered and glittery and thoughtful and all that ‘had to make it look really awesome‘ kind-of-shit, because I for sure know that my life isn’t all that cool and awesome and painless and effortless, and sure it will never be, rather I anticipate it to be a collection of random, serendipitous, fun, boring, thrilling, bone-chilling, weird, happy and sad and and blissful and treacherous and yeah, it’s absolutely fine by me!

Potato Shrestha will definitely do a lot of potato things!

And, two, it had a pure utilitarian purpose. Meaning, a tool to meditate on ‘True Gratification’.

Hold on there! I’m not selling ‘Gratification’ to you just because it’s Thanksgiving time of the year. It just so happens to be.

I merely, merely think — we all must know that we are already the most luckiest of mother-cookers to have been born at this time of the era.

And, I think we have every right to make ourselves actualize that we ought to celebrate life and the fleeting times, and not take things for freaking granted, let alone take life so so so so seriously!

Lastly, tonight I feel Grateful to have stumbled across this fine literary punch from Mr. Aldous Huxley —

It’s dark because you are trying too hard.
Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly.
Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply.
Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them … throw away your baggage and go forward.
There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet,
trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair.
That’s why you must walk so lightly.
Lightly my darling,
on tiptoes and no luggage,
not even a sponge bag,
completely unencumbered.

Namaste.

And, Happy Thanksgivings ya’ all!

Serendipidity is a bliss. ~ Author

GASHI – Rose

part 1

It’s been a while I haven’t really enjoyed my time.

It’s been a while I have not appreciated the blessing of being where i am;

being exactly where i longed to be for such a long time!

part 2

It’s been a while i have been caught up in a whirlwind of beautiful mess.

It’s been a while I have been playing a rat-race game of life 24 X 7.

It’s been a while I have been having an innate feeling of least fulfillment.

part 3

Today I didn’t complain about the weather and wind.

Today I didn’t whine about the food.

Today I tasted the feeble warmth from the sun.

Today I sat alone in an Argiro Park and watch the passerby pass by.

Today, after a long time, I didn’t hustle.

I didn’t have goal in mind.

I didn’t think of anyone but me and my dying self.

I like it here.

Namaste!
